Mr. Lu Fang, known in the painting world as "West Lake Land", is a professor of the Department of printmaking and a famous printmaker of The China Academy of Fine Arts. For decades, he has absorbed the traditional Chinese techniques of watermarking and printmaking into a whole. He is especially good at portraying the scenery in the South of the Yangtze River, and his creation style is elegant and lyrical. Mitchell Sullivan, a professor at The University of Oxford and a famous historian of Oriental art, praised Professor Lu Fang's works as "vague and subtle, full of Oriental mystery and poetic artistic conception".
